Freebrough is a Specialist Engineering College drawing together partners and communities in East Cleveland to focus on future priorities for the area. We aim to make learning irresistible! We believe we can do this by working with students, their families and our partners to offer learning experiences that engage and challenge our young people.

Engineering is about problem solving, something humans have been doing since they first began walking upright many years ago. Engineering status means that mathematics, science and design and technology lead on developments and partnerships.  Jobs in all aspects of engineering, both locally and nationally remain in high demand and are among the top five best paid of all professions.  The opportunities that specialist status affords students in terms of experiences, both in and out of the classroom, enriches them both academically and socially.  Highly effective young people who leave Freebrough will be willing and able to seek careers in not only engineering, but will have the skills that equip them for a wide variety of other careers.

Parents and students tell us that they value the breadth of experiences offered, the positive nature of teachers, the focus on individual needs and the close involvement of parents. As we continue to evaluate our work in order to raise standards further, we will also ensure that these special aspects of Freebrough flourish.
