The Y11 students at Freebrough Specialist Engineering College clubbed together to put on a night of glitz, glamour and comedy to raise some cash!
Two of our student leaders, dreamed up the idea of a Freebrough Fashion Show and took it to staff members in the hope that they could fundraise for the Y11 Leavers’ Fund and for charity.
So, for one night only, some of the students turned into catwalk divas and divos. There were also student DJs, stage hands, lighting assistants, bouncers, photographers, journalists and two excellent hosts for the evening, who had the audience roaring with laughter throughout.

Six of our Y9 students were chosen to take part in the ‘Tees Valley Schools Memory Championships competition’, which took place at Teesside University on Friday 26th February. They first completed 2 sessions before taking part in the competition, part of which involved students not only remembering a set of words, but remembering them in the correct order!
Congratulations to two of our students who got through to the next stage of the competition and will be attending the North East Regional Final. This will be taking place at the Centre for Life in Newcastle at the end of March. If students get through this round they will then be put forward to the National Final in the Summer Term.
